"Complexity" is developing, once again, into a central theme of peace and conflict research. This approach reflects the challenges that the linear approach to liberal peacebuilding has experienced over the past 25 years. The ACP participates in international initiatives to spotlight the issue of complexity in the academic research and practice of conflict transformation, including the participation in a working group on complexity of the Peace Research Section of the International Studies Association.
