"Conflict over Renaturation – how to deal with Municipal Conflicts in Connection with Renaturation Measures?"
Presentation of Results and Recommendations to Decision-Makers (German-speaking Event)
What role do conflicts play in renaturation? What conflicts can be expected in Austria in the future? How should these be addressed, resolved and transformed? And how should conflict-sensitive approaches and participation be integrated into the restoration plans currently being developed? As part of the Austrian Forum for Peace 2025 (annual peace conference at Burg Schlaining), a group of representatives from politics, administration, research, civil society/NGOs and practitioners worked on these questions.
At this event, we will present the results of this process and recommendations to decision-makers on the topics of conflict, participation and renaturation. The presentation will also include a panel discussion with experts and workshop participants. Furthermore, there will be an opportunity to discuss the results together.
