The ASPR Peace Library houses the largest scientific and educational library on peace research and peace education in Austria.
The collection focuses on peace studies, conflict resolution, human rights, military and security policy, international politics, peace movements and social movements, peace education, conflict transformation and conflict mediation. In addition, there is also a large section with children's and youth literature, literature on Austrian and Burgenland history and politics, as well as German and English fiction.
At present the library comprises more than 31,000 volumes. 150 Austrian and international newspapers and journals are subscribed to; "grey literature", i.e. literature on peace that is not available in bookshops, is a focus of the collection.
Our Peace Library is temporarily housed in a transitional location and is therefore not open to the public. However, books can still be borrowed: The entire collection can be researched online. Bibliographies or literature suggestions on specific topics are prepared on request.
