PARTNERS
The
IPT Program enjoys the support of the Austrian Federal Government, including the
Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry for
Education and Science.
A
co-operation agreement has been concluded with United
Nations Volunteers (UNV), who regularly conduct job interviews with
participants of the Specialization Courses and give special consideration to its
graduates in their recruitment for field missions.
For
conducting those modules pertaining to practical mission preparation, IPT has a
long-standing co-operation with the CIVPOL Training Section of the Austrian
Ministry of Interior as well as the Training Section of the Center for
Operations Preparation of the Austrian Military.
Over
the past years, there has been a very fruitful collaboration with various
organizations and institutions which regularly have people prepared for field
missions by IPT, e.g. Arbeitsgemeinschaft
Entwicklungshilfe (AGEH) and Deutscher
Entwicklungsdienst (DED), as well as the Organization
for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
The
ASPR offered its leadership to the European Union in order to co-ordinate the European
Community Project on Training for Civilian Aspects of Crisis Management. IPT
served as a model for the development of other training courses throughout
Europe.
The
ASPR was also a partner in the Network of Europeans
for Electoral and Democracy Support (NEEDS) and organizes Election
Observation Training for the European Commission and other institutions.
When
it comes to United Nations Training Institutes, the ASPR is a certified member
of Peace Operations Training Institute (formerly
UNITAR POCI).
Students aiming to achieve the Certificate of Training in Peace Support
Operations (COTIPSO) can apply for the IPT Program to attend their mandatory
classroom course.
Further,
the ASPR supports the United Nations
International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women (UN
INSTRAW) through an
emphasis on gender in the IPT Courses.
