Applicants who would like to apply for such support have to indicate this in the respective section of the application form and give reasons for their request in their application essay. However, there is no possibility to get financial support for travel expenses. Likewise, there is no way to take over the cost of insurance which is required by the Austrian embassies in most African and Asian countries. Applicants may approach institutions providing grants (e.g. Soros Foundation) for financial assistance.

Applicants from OECD or non-OECD countries already working with international organizations – at headquarters or in field missions (e.g. Asian Development Bank, OSCE, UN) – are not eligible for scholarships and may ask their organization for support.
